During February and March, we discussed the issues surrounding the importance and benefits of de-cluttering your physical environment. De-cluttering and spring-cleaning your life can hugely impact your positive wellbeing and quality of life. Of course, de-cluttering your surroundings provides peace of mind and enables you to focus on other, often more beneficial elements of life. It is as important to de-clutter your emotional wellbeing and general outlook so you can embrace a new season with optimism, enthusiasm and gusto! This is your time to welcome a new you!
Say No To Negativity
Even with the most positive attitude it can sometimes be hard to not feel affected by the negative thoughts and actions of those around you. It is hard but not impossible! Start avoiding negative situations by managing your response to them. Turn off any influences coming into your life that threaten your optimism:
Walk The Talk
If you can tell others to be kind to themselves, you too must be kind and allow yourself time out to enjoy the things you want to do and achieve.
When you decide to live your life on your terms, learn to forget what society expects of you or what others may think of you if you choose to take an easier, simplified route to success. So what if you buy your child’s birthday cake rather than baking it yourself – just think of all the hours you have saved!
You Can Change Direction
If you find yourself doing something you absolutely loathe, such as your job, look for other possible avenues that will improve your life. Don’t be afraid to see what is out there. For security, don’t simply jump ship, but explore what is available to you. Only by moving forward will you truly achieve your aspirations.
This is also true of your obligations. If you help to run a community group or you’ve agreed to take on something that is causing anxiety and overloading your schedule, understand that it is okay to turn your back on it or reduce your involvement if it no longer works for you and your needs. You may feel guilty initially but the enormous sense of relief and empowerment will soon wash that away as you reclaim valuable time to do what is really important to you.
I’m not talking about physical space here; I’m talking about creating room in your mind and schedule for bigger and better things. Get ready to accomplish your wildest dreams by clearing out the negative elements and unwanted obligations that get in the way of your full potential and true success.
