There’s no denying that life can be busy. You can find yourself dashing from one thing to the next and by the time you get to the evening, you wonder what has happened to your day. One month can slip into another as you march on with your responsibilities.
For some mums and mumpreneurs this is exactly how they want it. They’ve balanced the various aspects of their life in the way they want them to be and are feeling quite blissful. But how do you know when you’ve not got the balance right? Particularly when we know that we often try to kid ourselves that things are great.
The Life You Aspire To Have
If you read our newsletter last month, you’ll know that I asked you to think about the life you aspire to have and this is a great place to start.
Take some time to imagine the best possible scenario and then compare how different or similar it is to your life now. If it looks quite different, then you know that you’ve got some work to do on creating that balance.
Life can be overwhelming at times. We know it has a habit of dropping a few things on us at once. But how often are you feeling overwhelmed? How many times a day are you telling yourself that you can’t get it all done or can’t keep going?
I know many mums describe being overwhelmed as feeling pulled apart into a hundred pieces. If you’re feeling like this on a regular basis, it’s a sure sign that you don’t quite have life balanced in the right way for you.
Dropping The Balls
You might feel like you’re juggling lots of different balls and are in danger of dropping one. Or perhaps, you prefer the spinning plates analogy and can’t help thinking one is about to crash to the floor.
Either way, if you feel like you’re trying to do too much and you’re worried about missing or forgetting something, then your life is currently inundated rather than being in the balance you would aspire to achieve.
Where’s The Fun Mum?
If you find yourself wondering where the fun version of you has gone, it’s time to readdress that balance. Motherhood and life in general can be full of challenges but that doesn’t mean that your life shouldn’t be full of fun.
You get to choose how much fun you have and the type of mum you want to be. In the next blog post we’ll be looking at how you can start creating that life balance you desire.
