Being intentional takes effort. It requires you to make far more conscious choices rather than engaging the autopilot. As mums and mumpreneurs, our lives are already busy, often overwhelming. So, why should we consider intentional living? In this month’s newsletter, we discussed what living intentionally means. But in today’s blog post, we’re going to share five benefits of intentional living, so you can see it’s more than worth the effort.
Isn’t this what we’re all striving for in the end? Studies have repeatedly linked intentional living to increases in happiness. This is because it means we’re focused on what we really want to achieve and are taking action, which moves us closer towards it. It also means our values underpin our goals and actions. Aligning with these means we’re in flow with what matters most to us.
2. Mental Wellbeing
It’s not just our happiness levels which improve, though. Intentional living benefits our entire mental wellbeing. With a clearer path, anxiety lessens, and your mood is less likely to dip. On top of that, the right things take a priority in your life. Decision-making is no longer agonising as you know what’s most important and align with that. The result is a reduction in your daily stress levels.
If there’s one thing mums and mumpreneurs want more of, it is time. But how does intentional living give you this? Well, it comes down to doing less on autopilot. When we’re more intentional with our time, we don’t let it slip away on things which aren’t benefiting us or our family. For example, you might find you spend less time on social media or watching a TV program that doesn’t bring you all that much joy.
4. More Achievements and Success
It doesn’t matter how big or little the goal is. When you’re intentional about using your time to achieve it, then success will come to you more quickly. So often, we can get sidetracked by what is nothing more than noise from the rest of the world. Being intentional keeps you focused and moving forwards. The more you do this, the more you will achieve success.
5. Determination and Resilience Increases
We all know that achieving success requires both determination and resilience. Most things in life are not smooth sailing. What stops us from giving up on our goals is the determination to continue pursuing them and the resilience to deal with the knocks along the way. Intentional living gives you both in abundance. Because you focus on what really matters, it makes it much easier for you to dig deep and continue on your path, finding solutions to the obstacles and problems thrown in your way.
But is intentional living really possible for mums and mumpreneurs?
The short answer is yes. In fact, we believe that being intentional in your daily life is possibly even more crucial for mums and mumpreneurs. It’s easy to get lost in motherhood and the demands which are placed on you. Being intentional also reminds you of who you are and what matters to you. In our next blog post, we’ll be sharing how you can become more intentional in your daily life.
