What goals or intentions could you possibly set in such uncertain times? Last year was unlike any other and it’s made many of us have to reassess our previous plans. However, as we discussed in this month’s newsletter, you can still set goals and intentions which will give you some sense of control in your life. In this blog we’re exploring three different types of goals you could set for the first 90 days of 2021.
1. Introduce A New Daily Practice
With our routines and daily life turned upside down in the last year, we’re already having to get used to new ways of doing things. That makes it the perfect time to introduce a new daily practice that perhaps you’ve been thinking about for a while. Some ideas include journaling, listening to music or spending twenty minutes outdoors at lunchtime.
While some forms of exercise have not been available very much over the last nine months there are still plenty of ways to get the heart pumping and the body moving. I think it’s safe to say that Jo Wicks proved that beyond doubt!
You could set a target to be able to do a certain amount of sit ups by the end of the 90 days or to be able to get to the end of a Jo Wicks workout without falling on the floor. Alternatively, you might decide that you’ll go for a walk three times a week. The important thing is to choose something that is achievable, that you will enjoy and that will challenge you to some extent.
3. Learn Something New
It’s not been the case for everyone, but there have been some people who’ve found themselves with a little more time on their hands. Recent events have also made them reassess the things they do and don’t do now. That’s led to them deciding to learn something new whether as a hobby or to enhance their skill set.
It might be that setting an intention to learn something new would benefit you too. Obviously, if you’re stressed out and rushed off your feet you might want to choose something small and simple to do in the next 90 days. If you do have more time available, then this could be the perfect opportunity – it’s great for the grey matter too! You could choose anything from a language to how to crochet! We’re lucky enough to have the technology available that means there are a multitude of things you can learn online.
